Black Mother of Earth.
Black woman.

I feel you smiling at me,
beneath your searching eyes.
I hear you thinking of me,
within your wandering soul.

Reach out to me.
Wander no more.

Black Mother of Earth.
Black woman.

I sense you stirring.
You can't sit still.
There's history of hate to conquer.
All else is trivia.

Reach out to me
Wander no more.

You melt mountains
with your fiery glare,
freeze oceans
with your frigid stare,
nourish your children
with breasts of pearl.
Touch the heart.
Heal the world.

Black Mother of Earth.
Black woman.

Our streams of life may never cross.
We live in different forests.
But, what if we were born
under the same flower?

Reach out to me.
Wander no more.
